Wild Money Jackpot Reaches $294,000!

I am back, yes me the lottery enthusiast, after 4 years being on hiatus.  Life was in full swing as I navigated through the highs and lows of just “being”.   But enough about me, lets discuss Wild Money.

The Wild Money jackpot has reached a whopping $294,000! We don’t know how much higher it can go without a hit, since this is the highest it’s been since 01/24/2017 with other smaller hits in during it’s journey.   The Wild Money lottery is only available in Rhode Island, it’s still only $1.00 to play and it is a 5/35 pick game (win win there).  There is an extra ball, which is used to add a monetary bonus to non-jackpot winners with a 2 to 4 number hit.  Without the extra ball, the monetary value is much smaller with a 3 to 4 number hit.  This extra ball is drawn to increase the smaller wins of 2 to 4 numbers.  The player cannot pick the extra ball and it is not even an option on the slip, no no, we are at the mercy of the machine to pick that number to give a second glimmer of hope to get a win (of something).  With that said let’s talk strategies.

We all know that the lottery is random, we knew this for some time now and if you didn’t know, then I’m sorry (but it is).  However, trends do develop over time and numbers begin to show up more often like clock work, which enable many of us to catch a lucky streak.   But now in this new age, we have so many resources available to us.  Resources that can help increase our chances of winning, such as, websites and software.  With all of this I feel that the lottery agencies had to up their game by… say… “Hey lets add new ball sets, ball bins and oh yeah let’s rotate them too”, those rubber balls do take a beating after a while of rolling around. I get it.  Eventually, one ball will lose it’s bounce and stay on the bottom and get sucked up in the tube more frequently than the others.

There is one strategy that may stay consistent, and that is popular number patterns.  When I say “popular”, I don’t mean patterns that everyone else chooses.  I mean number patterns that have a greater chance of winning, such as, how many 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 and 30-35 number groups in the last 30-50 drawings.  If you could get all 5 number combinations for 35 numbers for a pick-5 (which I have, we’ll talk about that at a later date) and then analyze all of those patterns (with a little help from Microsoft Access), you will be able to see all of the popular patterns and discard the ones least likely to appear.

Here is an example: Wild Money’s last draw was 09-11-21-23-33.  If we look at this draw’s pattern and not focus so much on what numbers where drawn, then we will see this [S10202030].  Then take all the the history and analyze it this way in the form of total hits per pattern, you will then see popular combinations for a pick 5/35.  This is just one way to increase your odds of winning with games with higher odds.

Many of the Lottery (Lotto) software programs out there allow you to download lottery history right from the program to allow the enthusiast to manipulate that data.  One of my favorites that is easy to use is Gail Howard’s Smartluck software.  As a beginner, these books are great and easy to understand (nothing technical): Lottery Winning Stategies and Lottery Master Guide.  I have been using it for years and yes I have tried others and they are great too.  I have found that, with all of them you still need to do your due diligence in reviewing before buying.  Some of them have a steep learning curve for the beginner.

Powerball Making History Again!!?

Image

Is Powerball going to make history again with it’s whopping $400 million dollar jackpot?  We will see in tonight’s lottery pull!  Get your powerball slips ready and pick your numbers at www.simplypowerball.com

Simplypowerball shows past winning number activity from the past ten games for Powerball, Lucky for Life and Mega Millions.  I have noticed that about 2-3 numbers for Powerball does repeat within the past ten games and will highlight the winners in the most recent game but, not include them in the group of past ten games (Otherwise that past game will always be highlighted).   This nifty piece of information is on the main page will get updated at least once per week if not, every time one of the three lotteries changes.

Simplypowerball has other great tools to help lessen those daunting odds.  This is only if you like analyzing numbers and trends.  Each game has a statistics page that displays the following:

  • Stats page – Shows number games missed since it last hit (GMO).
  • Which numbers are considered LOW or HIGH for that game.
  • Which numbers are ODD or EVEN at a glance.
  • Average number of skips for the white ball number.  So if the Games out is close to Average Skips (A.Skips) then play it!
  • The last date the number hit.
  • Total White ball Hits
  • Total Bonus ball hits
  • Total hits per play day (days vary by game)
  • Total hits in the last 8,12 and 20 games

All column headers are sort-able if you need to view them in a desired order.   Alot of the statistics are only limited to the White ball (this is free, so the kitchen sink is not in there).

This is a great tool to help you play responsibly and not break the bank on an astronomical chance.  Lottery is still random and there is no magical algorithm to get all of those numbers on the same line but you can get smaller prizes and lots of them.

A Word on Quick Picks
Quick picks are available for each lottery game as well.  The picks are based on the rules of the game and displays statistics from the database for the picks before you play them.  This is a great way to see if the combination has a good balance of numbers (Low/High and Odd/Even numbers)  and the total white ball sum.  In addition, the results will display how many times that combination won and the money value based on current payout scales.

Powerball Update

Looks like Powerball on steriods is gaining momentum!  Since 2007, two winners this from Rhode Island in the first 3 months!  This is good news for Little Rhody.

Keep up the good work PB’ers, the more millionaire the better (hmmmm, I think).  Once again…

Play responsively and do not more than you can afford to lose!

A Winner!!

Wow!! It finally happened!

Since the Powerball changed it’s ticket price from $1.00 to $2.00 last month,  with ticket sales increasing as the jackpot mounted, one of the 3rd largest Powerball Jackpots was won in RHODE ISLAND!!

The winning number was sold in Newport, RI on Saturday, February 11th. Let just hope they were not just vacationing in Newport.

POWERBALL Did What ?!!

Yes it’s true, Powerball went and done it again and changed their numbers and their price per ticket.

Powerball has now increased their jackpots and decreased the bonus number pool from 1/39 to 1/35, but… it’s now $2.00 per ticket. If you want to include the Powerplay to increase your winnings, then your ticket will now be $3.00 per ticket. I wonder how this will pan out, when Mega Millions is still $1.00 per play. The main advantage with Mega Millions (in my opinion) is the better odds in the main pool of numbers 1 to 56 versus Powerball’s 1 to 59. This will truly be interesting.

As for the Smart Luck Software users; there should not be huge changes since the ball change is occurring in the bonus ball pool. The main pool data (white balls) will not have to be modified and your stats will unscathed, until they decide to take or add another number to the main pool and again this will change the odds. Of course, this will mean you will have to start fresh and wait months to compile your data with the new scenario for it to be some worth (as lottery systems go). The best way to deal with this is to just exclude the bonus ball from your menus when analyzing/compiling data (which I hope you are doing that anyway). This would be the main advantage since the Bonus Ball is extracted from seperate bin.

So, in the end and with this change in the number of bonus balls; a pplayer can literally play 35 tickets with bonus numbers from 1 to 35 and win all the time. Just sayin!

Good Luck Powerball players!!

Adventures in Lottery Land with Wild Money

Nice to be back blogging and about “Wild Money” to say the least. Wild Money is a Rhode Island state lottery Game and once again (usually around this time) the jackpot ha grown to a substantial amount – a whopping $180,718 !! As small as Little Rhody is, it’s nice to know that some one or family won that nice (most needed in this economy) bit of change.

Wild Money is a great game to play because the odds are in favor of the player. Pick five out of thirty-five (5/35) numbers you can’t beat it. Actually, it’s five out of twenty-nine numbers if you determine there will NOT be any repeaters from the previous game. I say twenty-nine because Wild Money does have a bonus number that is selected from the remaining numbers from the same bin. Unlike Powerball and Mega Millions, the bonus ball is selected from a different bin.

The one caveat is – the player can’t select the bonus number on the betting slip. The machine picks a number and what that means to the player is more winning alternatives to the jackpot. If you get the bonus number and two or more winning numbers, then you will win one of the alternative money prizes.

At this point I thought I knew everything I could about this lottery… NO, not quite. Much to my dismay, my number-filtering-lottery-mind started off into space again and decided to call Rhode Island Lottery (RILOT) about the frequency of ball changes. I was totally astonished that a person did answer; however, could not answer my question and then connected me to a voice mail of someone who could.

At this point, I knew that I would not get a return call to answer my (what I thought) ground-breaking question, but I left a message anyway. Then I received a call ten minutes later and was not expecting Mr. Lottery (yes, I am changing his name) with a call so soon AND to answer my diabolical question. I thought he was one of the nicest people working for RILOT, until he answered my question.

The question was “How often are there ball changes?” Simple enough, right? It really can’t be that many. Well, his answer was not what I was expecting. The answer was… There are different ball sets for each game of the week and all balls are weighted the same. So of course my mind went into denial. For some reason I thought that the balls would stay put until the next game (or pull). At this point the realization, is that the balls are changed every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday, with probably test runs in between. In addition to that knowledge I was also corrected about the type of balls used (from an email, brain was still ticking). The type of balls used are not ping pong balls but, hard rubber balls! Who knew!

I really could not be mad at Mr. Lottery for dropping that bomb (well maybe a little). It was no matter now that I was totally crushed and crumpled like a used lottery ticket. Having only to THINK I figured out something new to give me an edge to only be thrown back to the beginning.

This lottery game, like so many others are truly random. Yes, there are trend forming numbers like Gail Howard explains in her books, but trending numbers in pools of thirty and sixty numbers are to difficult to track and bring together for a breathtaking win. This will always be a game that is truly random. There are no tools amazing enough to pick the winning numbers, but there are software tools that can give you an edge like Gail Howard’s “The Lottery Master Guide” and so many other viable tools. Another good place to get tips is from your community at Lottery Post.

Now that I have re-assembled myself from this blow, I will focus on Powerball and Mega Millions and try to discover their secrets! And maybe wear protective eye goggles too.

Alot of Lotto Number Crunching

Ok, it’s been a long time since my last post. Ok really long time. I have found that a lottery player will need to spend at least 30min – 1 hour to pick numbers effectively for any lottery game. Using Smartluck is a great too but sometimes you just need more. Another great tool is “Lotto Buster Pro”, I have been using this more than the SmartLuck Program.

In evaulating this site, I have come closer to more winnings. The software is a little crude, however the tools it does provide is invaluable.

There is a consistancy that I did find between the two softwares and that is … not all of the updates are accurate and may require some tweaking. Another advantage to using Lotto Pro is the error checking for manually entered winning results.

Depending on what you are looking for (if you like numbers) varies and both softwares have their advantages and disadvantages.

I am now evaulating software: Lotto Combinations. This one is more complicated and crude for uploading data. Still more research is needed on this pup.

Smart Luck Software

SmartLuck by Gail Howard is a great tool for a more calculated lottery pick. However, there is alot to learn about her processes and understanding what all the charts mean. After reading her books, I still have to return for a refresher.

So after I noticed the difference in the frequency of my wins, I decided to search the internet for blogs where people are charing their experiences with using the software and/or techniques they use and low and behold there was none. I’m not sure it this is the best kept secret, but I think sharing tips would not be such a big deal. So know I am here meandering around the blogging world to share and maybe gain new some new insights on using SmartLuck.

If you find this of any interest to you. post your findings here. Lottery systems can be fun when you are winning more than you are losing. For those who do not have any of the SmartLuck products; you may be able to pick up some pointers in the interum.

Powerball picks for Wednesday 1/5/2010

Here are the most probable (I feel) powerball numbers I have selected for Wednesday’s ping-pong pull. This table will display the number, play day where totals are highest and Why it was selected. There are more numbers that were good but those stood out as the most probable.

White Ball # Day Comment
12 Wed Been out 6 games w/a double hit and possible double bottom for hit #7.
32 Wed hot number- hit 5 time in last 20 games
5 Wed Stable hitting number due for a hit
13 Wed/Sat Hit 4 times in last 12 games and could be the tie breaker for Wed/Sat hits

Here are the other notable mentions: 12, 51, 16, 37, 21, 47, 23, 53

The number are running more on the high side lately and the ODD numbers are reigning.

Good luck until my next post.

Lottery numbers are not so random after all !

I have purchased and used Gail Howard’s lottery system software and I agree with the testimonials that numbers DO form patterns with sufficient data.

Since I have been using her systems, I have been winning about $30 per game by playing 10 tickets at $1 per ticket. Then I just keep using my winnings to play again. I have read “Lottery Master Guide” by Gail Howard and I agree with many readers that there are many charts to understand and master. In addition, I do have her software which makes the process easier and since using her software I have won more than before. She has done great work in creating something that can help millions of people if they are to the challenge and a little fun too.

Although there are many methods and charts she uses in the ‘Lottery Master Guide” ; I have discovered there is another missing piece that could be essential to her software. For anyone who has used the software the “History View Filter” comes close in finding which numbers play most frequently on specific game days. This feature works great but you have to run two instances of the program using different filters to see the differences in the total hits in each of the numbers. It would be great if total hits by day was displayed on the “Quick Pick chart”. The other drawback is when restoring back to the original settings, the user must be careful to not erase any game history. The potential is there if you are looking for it.

The funny thing is… I was one of the biggest skeptics since I had written my own version using access VBA and found that Gail Howard was right on the money.

Gail Howard claims:

“That which is MOST POSSIBLE happens MOST OFTEN.
That which is LEAST POSSIBLE happens LEAST OFTEN.”

So I tested the theory and she is most accurate. I tested a group of numbers that I have played in the past (they were not winners) to playing a new set every game and found that the numbers I had played in the past against the past 10 games were not even close. The new formulated sets of numbers for 5 games ($5.00) where closer to the point of getting all 5 numbers (on different panels) with the bonus number but, they did result in some winnings as opposed to playing the same numbers over and over again. Those old numbers had “sleepers” in them. They were not checked to see if they were “cold” numbers. So I would have lost money using those numbers repeatedly.

If there are others using her systems, please post your findings and I will do the same.
